WORLD, Aug. 08 (YPA) – The United Nations stated that the Israeli occupation forces’ acts of killing Palestinians and displacing them in the West Bank continue unabated.
Farhan Haq, the spokesman for the Secretary-General of the United Nations, explained in press statements that the latest report issued by the United Nations organizations in the region indicated that the killing of Palestinians, their displacement, the destruction of their homes and the destruction of infrastructure continue unabated in the West Bank occupied by Israel.
He added that the occupation forces killed 16 Palestinians, including two children, and injured 56 others in the West Bank between July 30 and August 5.
Haq also noted that settlers carried out over 20 attacks against Palestinians during the same period, resulting in injuries and property damage.
The UN spokesperson explained that the continuous Israeli bombardment of Gaza hinders the ability of relief organizations to respond to emergencies, leading to “widespread losses.”
He pointed out that the report from the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs highlighted that “repeated evacuation orders in Gaza lead to an endless cycle of displacement.”
Haq confirmed that it has become “increasingly difficult” for Palestinians to obtain the humanitarian assistance they need under these conditions.
He also mentioned that epidemic and diseases are spreading in Gaza due to contaminated water, overcrowding, and inadequate sanitation.
