STC factions impose stifling siege on stronghold of Tariq Afash in Mocha

TAIZ, July 21 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Transitional Council factions imposed a stifling siege on the areas under the control of Tariq Afash’s forces in Mocha and the rest of the districts located west of Taiz governorate, local sources told Yemen Press Agency.

The sources confirmed that STC members detained approximately 500 gas and food tankers on the coastal road linking the cities of Aden and Mocha in the Ras Imran area of Lahj province, in protest against the non-payment of their financial dues.

The sources stated that most of the tankers were heading to Mocha, which is under the control of the “Tariq Afash” funded by the UAE, and a few of them were heading towards the city of Taiz, which is under the control of Islah.

They also pointed out that the leaders of the transitional factions failed to convince the militants to open the way for the tankers, which some activists on the social media considered a siege targeting the areas controlled by Afash and Islah party, under the name of not delivering salaries.
