Sanaa says it will only accept complete opening of Sanaa Airport to all destinations

SANAA, July 17 (YPA) – The Minister of Transport in the Sanaa government, Abdulwahab Al-Durra, reiterated on Wednesday the insistence of the Sanaa leadership on the complete opening of Sanaa International Airport to all destinations, as it was before the war on Yemen.

“We will only accept the complete opening of Sanaa International Airport and the rest of the airports that are currently being rehabilitated and restored, such as Taiz and Hodeida airports,” Al-Durra said in a statement during a vigil by employees of the Ministry of Transport and its bodies in support of the revolutionary leadership’s choices in protecting the interests of the people.

He pointed out that the Saudi-led coalition completely closed Sanaa Airport against the backdrop of Yemen’s firm position on the Palestinian issue.

“Yemen’s honorable, courageous, and historic position in supporting Gaza did not please the puppet regimes that launched an economic war on the Yemeni people by targeting banks and stopping civilian flights through Sanaa Airport,” Al-Durra said.

The Minister of Transport indicated that, during more than two years since the de-escalation agreement, Yemen has endured a lot as a result of the coalition’s procrastination, despite failure to fulfill commitments to open agreed-upon destinations.

The participants in the vigil issued a statement, declaring “the full mandate of the revolutionary leadership to take appropriate options to confront enemies and reform state institutions, as well as to confront the aggressive measures of the Saudi regime that affect the interests of the homeland and people.”
