Israeli occupation forces storm Nablus

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, July 08 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces stormed the city of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank early Monday amid clashes with Palestinian resistance fighters.

According to Palestinian sources, the occupation forces entered the eastern area of the city through the Beit Furik checkpoint, accompanied by a bulldozer, allegedly in preparation for Israeli settlers to access Joseph’s Tomb for their religious rituals.

Israeli forces deployed in the streets surrounding Joseph’s Tomb, with snipers occupying several buildings, especially in the areas of Balata al-Balad, Iraq al-Tayeh, Oman Street, and Muta Street. An Israeli bulldozer carried out excavation and vandalism operations on Oman Street.

Armed clashes erupted as Israeli forces approached Joseph’s Tomb, with Palestinian resistance fighters targeting them with gunfire and locally-made explosive devices.

The Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades stated that their fighters “targeted the invading enemy forces in the eastern area of Nablus city in all deployment axes with heavy gunfire and explosive devices, engaging in fierce clashes with the invading forces.”

In a related incident, Israeli forces stormed the village of Sinjil north of Ramallah after Palestinian youths threw Molotov cocktails towards a vehicle carrying settlers near the town.

The occupation forces also arrested a group of youths and injured two others at the northern entrance of the city of al-Bireh.
