Russian, Iranian FMs discuss operation ‘True Promise’ against Israel

MOSCOW, April 15 (YPA) – Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov discussed on Sunday, in a phone call with his Iranian counterpart, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, tensions in the Middle East and Iran’s operation ‘True Promise’ against the Zionist occupation.

Abdullahian briefed Lavrov on Iran’s response to the Zionist attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, as stated in a message from the Russian diplomatic department following the conversation that took place at the initiative of the Iranian minister.

“The focus during the call was on the situation in the Middle East,” the message said.

Lavrov and Abdullahian pointed out that dangerous provocative actions could lead to increased tension in the Middle East and stressed the need to prevent such scenarios and eliminate their causes.
