Supreme committee assigned to probe Radaa incident begins its work

BAYDA, March 20 (YPA) – The supreme committee assigned by Sayyed Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi arrived in Bayda province on Wednesday to investigate the incident in Radaa city.

The committee met with the families of the victims and those affected, in the presence of notables and sheikhs of the province and Radaa district in particular.

The committee confirmed in a statement that it had taken legal measures against those responsible for the incident and referred them to justice to receive deterrent punishment.

The statement explained that among the measures was the dismissal of the province’s security director and a number of security leaders in the province who were related to the incident.

For his part, deputy Minister of the Interior, Major General Abdul Majeed Al-Murtada, chairman of the committee, explained that the Ministry of Interior began, immediately after the incident occurred, to take many measures against those who caused the incident, stressing that the leadership of the Ministry will not tolerate anyone who causes any harm to citizens, and it will be keen to carry out its tasks of preserving the lives, security and property of citizens.

Meanwhile, Bayda governor, Abdullah Idris, affirmed that the committee began to inventory the damages, noting that Sayyed Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi directed the payment of compensation for victims and all damages.

The governor said that the judiciary would take action against those responsible for the incident, and that the local authority stands by the security services in the measures it takes regarding the incident.

He also stressed the keenness of the notables, sheikhs and people of the province to maintain security and stability and not to allow anyone who tries to exploit the incident to serve the purposes of the coalition and its plans aimed at targeting security, disturbing public tranquility.
