Yemeni army engages in fierce battles with coalition forces in Lahj

LAHJ, July 11 (YPA) – Violent clashes broke out on Wednesday between the Yemeni army and Saudi-led coalition troops in al-Qabayta district of Lahj province, southern Yemen, a local official told Yemen Press Agency.

The battles took place in Thabab Wairim area and al-Khalfa site with using medium arms, leaving several dead and wounded from both sides, according to the official.

Over the past few days, the Yemeni army forces progressed and seized al-Rakyza and Jalis Mountains.
