ADEN, Jan. 27 (YPA) – A female lawyer and human rights activist received on Saturday a threat with physical liquidation in the city of Aden, which is under the control of coalition factions in southern Yemen.
Tahani Al-Sarari, a member of youth political empowerment in Aden, said the threatening death and physical liquidation came following the appearance of her sister, Hoda, in the investigative report published by the BBC last week about the assassinations carried out by the UAE in Aden.
Al-Sarari confirmed in news statements reported by local media outlets that her life and her family are in real danger, amid accusations against leaders in the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC).
She got a widespread solidarity campaign by human rights activists on social media platforms, who held the STC fully responsible for the activist’s life and working to protect her.
This comes after Tahani Al-Sarari’s sister participated in the investigative report that confirmed the UAE’s role in hiring American mercenaries to carry out assassinations in Aden and providing them with a list of targets during 2015-2019.
