Militants assault local official, loot his car in Aden

ADEN, Jan. 16 (YPA) –  Militants assaulted a local official and looted his car on Monday in the center of the city of Aden, which is under the control of Saudi-led coalition factions, in southern Yemen.

Human rights sources in the city confirmed that an armed gang believed to belong to the elements of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)  assaulted the director of studies in the second region in Aden Electricity, Engineer Wissam Abdel Salam, and they looted his car and fled to an unknown destination.

The sources explained that Aden has been witnessing a deterioration of security due to the spread of armed factions with multiple foreign loyalties amid the absence of state authorities since the beginning of 2016.

They considered the continued security chaos in Aden a threat that compounds the suffering of the people, in addition to the economic collapse, high prices and the deterioration of various basic services in the city.
