UAE factions besiege sit-in camp in Shabwa

SHABWA, Jan. 10 (YPA) – UAE-funded factions imposed on Tuesday an armed cordon on the sit-in camp for tribal people near Al-Uqla oil fields in Armaa district of Shabwa province, eastern Yemen.

Sources familiar with the matter reported that members of al-Amaliqa forces with several military vehicles surrounded the peaceful tribal sit-in camp demanding the unification of oil prices in Shabwa, similar to the Islah Party-held city of Marib.

The sources added that the faction leaders called on Sheikh Abdul Qadir Al-Talibi Al-Awlaki and the other sheikhs participating in the camp to lift the sit-in and leave under the pretext of maintaining security in the area, amid the influx of dozens of Shabwa tribesmen to participate in the sit-in event for the sixth day in a row.

Shabwa tribes are waging a tribal movement against the coalition-backed government, demanding to reduce in the prices of fuel sold in the province by more than 25,000 riyals per 20-liter gallon, similar to Marib, where the price of a gallon is 3,500 riyals.
