MUSCAT, Jan. 09 (YPA) – The UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, discussed on Tuesday with the head of the Sanaa negotiating delegation, Mohammed Abdul-Salam, issues related to addressing the humanitarian file in Yemen, including to pay employee salaries.
Grundberg explained on the “X” platform that measures at improving living conditions in Yemen were discussed, with resuming an UN-brokered inclusive political process.
The UN envoy also announced that he had also met with a group of senior Omani officials in Muscat to discuss continued coordinated regional support for UN mediation efforts.
He held a series of meetings in Riyadh and Muscat, during which he confirmed readiness to resume a political process and work to develop a road map, under the auspices of the United Nations.
The road map was announced by the UN envoy on December 23, including “a ceasefire agreement, paying all public sector salaries, resuming oil exports, opening roads in Taiz and other parts of Yemen, as well as continuing to ease restrictions imposed on Sanaa Airport and Hodeida port.
