Sultanate of Oman thwarts arrival of drones for pro-UAE factions in Yemen

MUSCAT, Jan. 09 (YPA) – The customs authorities in the Sultanate of Oman seized on Tuesday a shipment of drones coming from UAE territory on its way to Yemen.

Informed Yemeni sources reported that specialists at the “Hafeet” crossing between Oman and the UAE seized a truck loaded with drones that was on its way to Omani territory and from there to the factions loyal to the UAE in southern Yemen.

The sources explained that customs inspectors were able to discover the shipment, which was hidden professionally in places specially prepared for smuggling it in the truck.

According to the sources, the Omani authorities began investigating the case to complete the rest of the legal procedures against the suspects, the party behind them, and the destination of the shipment.

Observers do not rule out that the United States will resort to devising tricks aimed at creating an international crisis by targeting ships, with the aim of misleading international public opinion that operations in Yemen are not limited to ships linked to the Israeli occupation.

It should be noted that Sanaa informed all countries in the world and shipping companies that crossing the Red Sea is safe, with the exception of ships linked to or destined for the Israeli occupation.
