Tribal gunmen kidnap judges in Shabwa

SHABWA, Dec. 13 (YPA) – Tribal gunmen in Shabwa province, controlled by the UAE factions, kidnapped a number of judges, including the “head of the public prosecution” in Hadramout and others who were on their way to the southern Yemeni city of Aden.

Human rights sources in the governorate confirmed that the gunmen of AL Aladhama tribes kidnapped on Tuesday the so-called “head of the public prosecution” in Hadramout coast, judge Shaker Bench, and judge Saleh al-Saadi who were on a car taking them on the road linking Shabwah and Hadramout in protest against the imprisonment of one of their sons in Mukalla.

The sources explained that the gunmen intercepted the car carrying the judges in the public prosecution in Mukalla on the coastal road linking Hadramout and Aden in the coastal area of Radhom in Shabwa, and took them to an unknown destination.

The kidnapping came after the gunmen set up a checkpoint yesterday in order to pressure the coalition authorities to release their son, who is detained in the prisons of the Emirati factions without any charge against him.
