Palestinian Red Crescent says situation is “catastrophic” for infants in Gaza hospitals

GAZA, Nov. 12 (YPA) – The Palestinian Red Crescent Society announced in a brief post on the “X” platform on Saturday night that “infants in Al-Quds Hospital are suffering from dehydration due to the lack of milk.”

The Society said in another post: “Our colleagues in the emergency operations room in Gaza are working around the clock despite the power outage and the ongoing intense bombing in the vicinity of Al-Quds Hospital.”

President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, Francesco Rocca, wrote in a post on the “X” platform, “Enough. How can the international community accept the situation in Gaza? The fighting in Gaza must stop immediately.”

He added, “The lives of children in incubators and patients in intensive care at Al-Quds Hospital are at risk.”

Rocca stressed that “humanitarian aid and fuel must be allowed to reach Gaza, especially the north.”

In this context, the “Doctors Without Borders” organization said on the “X” platform that it was unable to contact any of its employees inside Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City after it was subjected to intense Israeli bombing during the past hours, noting that the situation was “catastrophic.”

The organization continued: “There are still patients in the hospital, some of whom are in critical condition. We are extremely concerned for their safety and the safety of the medical staff. We lost contact with our staff at the hospital.”
