Top official wounded in assassination attempt in Sanaa

SANAA, Oct. 06 (YPA) – Head of the Commercial Court in Sanaa, Judge Khaled Al-Athwari, was wounded on Friday in an assassination attempt in the capital Sanaa.

Commenting on the crime, the Supreme Judicial Council in Sanaa condemned in a statement the attack, which was carried out by unknown gunmen, against Al-Athwari while he was leaving his house to perform Friday prayers.

The statement called on the security authorities to quickly arrest the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

It pointed out that the council will take measures that guarantee the prestige of the judiciary, enable judges to perform their duties, and secure safety of members of the judiciary.
