TAIZ, Oct. 06 (YPA) – A massive protest rally was organized on Friday in Taiz city denouncing the deterioration of the electricity sector in the city, which is under the control of the coalition forces.
In the rally, the protesters in front of Osayfara area in the city demand that the local authorities affiliated with the Islah Party and the coalition-backed government restart the Osayfara power station and provide public electricity to citizens and alleviate their suffering.
This comes in protest against the continued of government power outage from the city of Taiz since the beginning of the war, which led to a humanitarian tragedy for millions of residents in the province.
Dozens of activists launched a campaign on Friday on social media outlets revealed that local authorities to continue to ignore people’s suffering and leave them to exploitation by commercial station owners.
Most of the residents of the city of Taiz depend on solar energy to meet their daily electricity requirements in light of the absence of government electricity and the coalition-funded government continuing to ignore their repeated calls over the past nine years.
