SOCOTRA, Oct. 06 (YPA) – The UAE forces have begun implementing developments on the Yemeni island of Mayun of Socotra province with the aim of converting it into a military base.
Commenting on the matter, Ministry of Fisheries in Sanaa condemned these actions, denouncing the persistence of the coalition countries in occupying some of Yemen’s islands, beaches, and important parts of its lands, plundering its wealth, and destroying its environment of all kinds, as well as displacing the people of Mayon Island.
The ministry explained in a statement that the Saudi-led coalition countries went too far during the past week by sending new Emirati forces to the Yemeni island of Mayon, denouncing also the joint movements of the coalition with the Zionist enemy in the archipelago and the strategic Yemeni islands.
It called on UAE forces to leave Mayon Island and all Yemeni lands, islands and coasts, and the cessation of developments seeking to transform the island into a military base subject to the American and Zionist project.
The statement held the Security Council, the United Nations, and its affiliated humanitarian and human rights organizations responsible for the infringement on Yemeni sovereignty on a number of islands, the latest of which is what is happening on Mayon Island.
