President Al-Mashat opens production & training unit in Productive Families Program in Sanaa

SANAA, Sept. 24 (YPA) – President of the Supreme Political Council, Mahdi Al-Mashat, opened on Sunday in the capital, Sanaa, the project to equip the production and training unit in the National Program for Productive Families and Community Development.

At the opening of the project, President Al-Mashat listened to an explanation about the unit, which consists of two floors and includes 132 sewing machines, in addition to supplying it with modern machines worth 100,000 dollars, funded by the General Authority of Zakat, to employ approximately 400 girls from poor and needy families and the families of the martyrs and the wounded in three shifts a day.

The President visited the training, qualification, and production departments in the unit and got acquainted with the work carried out by female workers in the fashion and embroidery industries in the first and second production units.

President Al-Mashat praised the role of the Zakat Authority in supporting the program with modern machines, which will contribute to enabling the poorest families to improve their living conditions as well as enhancing local production of fabrics and clothing that reflect faith identity.

He stressed that supporting productive families and encouraging them to produce local industries of high quality reflects the state’s directions to achieve self-sufficiency and care for these families, expressing hope to move toward economic empowerment projects that enhance local development.
