2 citizens died due to thunderbolt in Mahweet, child sank in water barrage

MAHWEET, Aug. 30 (YPA) – Two people died on Wednesday as a result of a thunderbolt in al-Rujum district of Mahweet province.

The branch of the Civil Defense Department in the governorate reported that a thunderbolt accompanied by rains hit al-Bashary Bani al-Ashal area, which led to the death of citizen Nasser Ahmed Al-Ghouli, 50 years old, and citizen Yahya Yahya Saleh Merah, 35 years old.

In the same area, 7-year-old child Hashim Walid Ahmed Ashal died after falling into a water barrage.

The incident comes in light of parents ignoring the constant warnings by the Civil Defense Department not to allow their children to go to dams and water barrages, as this poses a danger to their lives.
