UAE imposes raising its flags on Yemen’s island of Socotra

SOCOTRA, July. 10 (YPA) – The UAE imposed on Monday its flags on all the cities and islands of the Socotra archipelago, in eastern Yemen.

Observers described the move as announcing the separation of the strategic island at the intersection of the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean.

Activists on social media outlets circulated pictures showing the UAE flags being massively raised on the islands of the Yemeni province.

This is the first time that the UAE flags have been raised massively on the island that the UAE troops have controlled since 2017.
