Storm hits coast of Midi district in Hajjah

HAJJH, July 05 (YPA) – A storm accompanied by rain hit the coastal area of Buhais in the Midi district of Hajjah governorate, resulting in material damage to fishermen property.

Abdul Hamid Salah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Fisheries for the traditional fishing sector, told the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that 13 engines of fishing boats and some fishing equipment were damaged by the storm in addition to a number of huts that fishermen use as their home.

He pointed out that the leadership of the Ministry of Fisheries directed the General Authority for Fisheries in the Red Sea to inventory and assess all damages to address them in coordination with the concerned authorities.

Salah praised the cooperation of the local authority in providing shelter support to those affected.
