SANAA, June 23 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology expected sporadic rains of varying intensity, in a number of Yemeni provinces, and hot to very hot weather during the day on deserts and coasts during the next 24 hours.
The center affirmed, its weather bulletin on Friday, that scattered rains of varying intensity, accompanied by thunder to hit parts of the governorates of Hajjah, Mahwit, Raymah, Dhamar, Ibb, Taiz, Dhalea, Lahj and west of Amran and Sanaa, as well as in separate parts of the interior plateaus of the governorates of Bayda, Abyan, Shabwa, Hadramout and Tihama Plain.
According to the center, hot to very hot during the day in the deserts and interior plateaus, with maximum temperatures ranging between 39-43 degrees Celsius, and hot weather with high humidity on the coasts of the Republic, with maximum temperatures ranging between 35-39 degrees.
The center called on the motorists to drive carefully on mountain roads a s result of the low horizontal visibility during rain.
The center advised against direct exposure to sunlight in areas that will witness high temperatures.
It also warned sea-goers, fishermen and shipmasters of sea turbulence and high waves around the Socotra archipelago.
