Lighting strike kills three people in Mahwit

MAHWIT, June 23 (YPA) – At least three people were killed and one child was injured by a lightning strike in the village of Jabal Tafayan in Jabal Al-Mahwit district of Mahwit governorate.

According to an official source, on Thursday’s afternoon, a lightning bolt struck the house of citizen Mansour Ali Tafyan and killed his wife, 30, and his daughter Shorouq, 15, as well as killing a 10-year-old child Salim Muhammad Nasser Tafyan, who was present at the house at the time of the incident, and is a relative of the family.

“Wadih Ramadan Alda al-Shihabi, a 7-year-old child, was reportedly injured with burns on the face under the eye,” he added.
