Sanaa exempts ships operating in project of “Safer” ship alteration from fees

SANAA, June 06 (YPA) – The Ministry of Transport and the Maritime Affairs Authority in Sanaa announced on Tuesday that ships working with the United Nations team to rescue the ship “Safer” and install an alternative floating tank have been exempted from fees.

This came in implementation of directives of the President of the Supreme Political Council, Mahdi Al-Mashat, according to the ministry.

The Minister of Transport, Abdulwahab al-Durra, indicated that the exemption of the UN ships from financial fees is a contribution from the Sanaa government to implement the project to save the floating reservoir “Safer”.

He stressed the need to adhere to the time-bound plan and adopt a continuous maintenance program for the alternative ship to prevent the problem from recurring, as happened with the Safer ship due to the war and economic blockade.
