Meteorology Center warns citizens of heavy rains in Yemen
SANAA, May 28 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology issued on Sunday important warning to all citizens in all Yemeni provinces, asking them be careful and take precautions due to the heavy rain.
In its weather bulletin, the center warned citizens in rainy areas not to be in torrential passages and valleys, not stay near tall objects such as trees and poles, and not use electronic devices during thunderstorms.
It also warned of a decrease in the extent of horizontal visibility on mountain roads during rain and fog formation and of rockslides and crossing earth bridges during the flow of torrents.
The Meteorology Center had expected rains of varying intensity, accompanied by thunderstorms, to hit the provinces of Saada, Hajjah, Mahweet, Amran, Sanaa, Dhamar, Rayma, Ibb, Dhalea, Bayda, and Taiz, the heights of Lahj and Abyan provinces, and parts of the western coasts and the Tihama plain.
The center also predicted sporadic rain, which may sometimes be accompanied by thunder, in parts of the deserts of the provinces of Jawf, Marib, Shabwa, Hadramout, Mahra, and Socotra archipelago, as well as parts of the southern and eastern coasts and the interior areas adjacent to them.
