UAE covers up assassination of ‘Al-Bani’ with military attack towards Bayda

SHABWA, May 08 (YPA) – The UAE-backed armed faction carried out, on Monday, a military attack towards positions of Sana’a forces in Bayda governorate, local sources in Shabwa province said.

This came two days after a similar attack by pro-UAE armed groups in the same area failed.

According to the local sources in Bayda governorate, a large military UAE-backed forces carried out a large advance from high areas of Bayhan district towards the positions of Sana’a forces on the outskirts of Nati district.

Sources pointed out that the Sanaa forces  were able to repel the attack, forcing to retreat back to their positions in “Al-Gharaba” and ” Hossn Al-Mazer “, stressing that the situation in the region is still tense.

Observers of Yemeni affairs believe that the timing of the military attack comes as an attempt by the UAE-backed armed elements loyal to obscure the murder of Sheikh Abdullah Al-Bani, after performing Eid al-Fitr prayer and sermons in the Bayhan district by gunmen loyal to the UAE.
