SANAA, March 14 (YPA) – Three Somali soldiers were killed and five other people were injured, including officials, by a suicide bombing, on Tuesday, in the city of Bartiri in southwestern Somalia.
According to Somali media, a security source said that the suicide attack targeted a guest house in Bartiri where senior officials of the local administration and military commanders of the Somali army were staying in the area, explaining that the explosion resulted in the injury of the governor of Gedo region and the commander of the 43rd division of the National Army.
No one immediately claimed responsibility for the bombing, but local security officials pointed the finger at Al-Shabaab, which is linked to the Takfiri al-Qaeda group.
