North Korean leader decides to send army to countryside

WORLD, March 12 (YPA) – North Korean leader Kim Jong-un chaired a meeting of the leaders of the ruling Workers’ Party of Korea, the official KCNA news agency reported.

During the meeting, they discussed the military’s participation in the implementation of the party’s plan for rural development.

Kim Jong-un said the armed forces must do more to make the country prosperous in the challenging and difficult circumstances.

“Important practical measures were discussed and adopted to deploy more effective, powerful and offensive countermeasures,” the agency said.

According to KCNA, Kim Jong-un stressed that “the military must become the example to be followed in the struggle for the homeland and the building of socialist villages, and every year it must inevitably build real sites and facilities for prosperity that make the people happy.”
