ADDIS ABABA, Feb. 20 (YPA)  – The African Union (AU) commission denied on Sunday extending any invitation or authorization to the representative of the Israeli occupation to attend the Union summit in Addis Ababa.”

A spokeswoman for the commission chairman, Ebba Kalondo, responded to the tweets of activists and journalists via “Twitter”, and said that the Union did not authorize or extend an invitation to the person who was expelled from attending the Union Summit.

Kalondo confirmed that “no decision has been made regarding the Israeli occupation’s candidacy for observer status in the African Union.”

The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs accused, earlier, Algeria and South Africa of being behind the expulsion of an Israeli diplomat from the African Union summit in Ethiopia.

The Israeli newspaper, Yedioth Ahronoth, quoted the Israeli ministry as saying “the expulsion of the Deputy Director of African Affairs, Ambassador Sharon Parly, from the African Union summit came under Algerian and South African pressure.”

An Israeli observer delegation was removed on Saturday from the African Union summit being held in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa.
