Tunisian President: We are taking a liberation battle to preserve the state and its institutions

WORLD, Feb. 01 (YPA) – Tunisian President Kais Saied said during a security visit on Tuesday that the country is involved in a national liberation battle to preserve the state and its institutions.

The Tunisian president called on the armed and military security forces to enforce the law and confront attempts to disregard the state and plan future crimes in a number of areas.

Saied said holding accountable those who committed crimes against the homeland and the Tunisian people is a sacred duty.

He stressed that a criminal could not be left unaccountable, and the law must be applied to everyone equally, as there was no difference between one litigant and another.

Saied added that the procedures cannot be justified by certain parties because they are necessary for the trials to be fair, but they should not be a cover to hide behind it.
