LAHJ, Jan. 12 (YPA) – A number of protesters were wounded, including 3 children, on Thursday when UAE-funded militias opened fire to disperse an angry popular uprising organized by Radfan district of Lahj province, southern Yemen.
Local sources said that the popular uprising led to violent clashes between peaceful demonstrators and the militias of the so-called “security belt” of the UAE-backed “Southern Transitional Council, using.”
The demonstrators condemned the killing of the young man, “Majid Rushda,” at the hands of elements led by “Mukhtar al-Nubi,” a commander of the “security belt” militia in the Radfan regions.
The protesters called on the UAE militias to leave their areas and the trial of their leaders, including Mukhtar al-Nubi.
