Militant killed 5 others wounded in Shabwa confrontations

ABYAN, Jan. 10 (YPA) – A militant was killed and 5 others were wounded on Tuesday in clashes that broke out in Abyan province, south of Yemen.

Local sources affirmed that the leader of the so-called “Southern Resistance” in the Amhalhel area, Mohammed Al-Qafei, was killed in an armed ambush set up by the “Security Belt” militia affiliated with the UAE-funded Southern Transitional Council (STC) in the city of Lawdar.

The sources pointed out that elements loyal to the leader Al-Qafei launched an armed attack on the headquarters of the Security Belt” militia, as the clashes expanded to various areas of Lawdar.

The confrontations broke out with various types of light and medium weapons, destroying a number of military vehicles of both sides.
