WORLD, Dec. 28 (YPA) – In response to the winter cold, the government announced that citizens who they want to heat their homes with firewood can get receipts to buy firewood, French media reported.
According to a report published by the newspaper “Ouest France”, citizens who want to heat their homes with firewood can obtain receipts for the purchase of firewood for an amount ranging from 50 to 200 euros from December 27, depending on the income of citizens.
“This action was taken by the government to help French households cope with the sharp increase in electricity costs,” the report noted.
Receipts can be obtained after submitting an invoice confirming the purchase of firewood for at least €50, after which the amount of assistance paid will be calculated according to the income and marital status of the beneficiary.
According to French authorities, about 70% (about 2.6 million) of owners of wood-heated homes will be able to get these receipts.
