WORLD, Nov. 26 (YPA) – The Somali army said on Friday that 15 members of al-Qaeda-linked al-Shabaab militia were killed in a military operation in the south of the country.
According to the Somali News Agency, the operation was carried out after security services received information about a plan by the armed group to target some areas.
In a related context, the Somali government said today that it had thwarted an attack by armed elements on Qayib village of Galgadud region.
.In a statement, it said the armed elements had suffered a severe defeat at the hands of the army, resulting in casualties among the attackers.
