Shura Council discusses issues related to environment

SANAA, Nov.15 (YPA) – The Shura Council’s Tourism and Environment Committee discussed, in its meeting on Tuesday headed by the Council Speaker Muhammad al-Aidarous, a number of issues related to the environment.

The meeting dealt with matters related to “Al-Azraqein landfill” and its impact on the environment and groundwater, as well as the problems that hindered the sewage treatment plant project and the problems of the sewage network as a result of the increase in the population and the displacement to the capital Sana’a.

In its meeting, the committee stressed the importance of developing appropriate visions and proposals to address the issues of environmental pollution caused by the garbage dump, the failure of the treatment plant project, and the expansion of the sewage network in proportion to the population density in the capital.
