Angry popular demonstrations stage in Abyan, Mahra for solidarity with Gaza

ABYAN, July 25 (YPA) – Angry popular demonstrations took place on Friday in several coalition-held provinces in solidarity with the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

Hundreds of residents of Zinjibar city in Abyan province expressed their rejection of the blockade and famine imposed on the people in Gaza.

Despite the repressive policies the UAE-backed factions pursued, the demonstrators marched through the city’s main streets, waving Palestinian flags and holding banners condemning Arab and international silence regarding the starvation and genocidal massacres in Gaza.

The participants chanted slogans calling on the Islamic nation to take urgent action to break the siege and bring in food and medical aid.

In the same context, hundreds of residents of Hawf district of Mahra province organized a similar protest, during which they rejected the crimes of the Zionist occupation and its use of starvation as a weapon against civilians in the Strip.

The protesters in Abyan and Mahra indicated that the popular movements are only the beginning of a series of ongoing activities, calling on free people in the Arab and Islamic world to confront the systematic policies of killing and starvation against the Palestinian people.
