DOHA, Oct. 05 (YPA) – Qatar announced on Wednesday that it will reduce official working hours in all ministries, government and private entities to four hours a day, starting from November 1 to December 19, 2022, the end of the 2022 World Cup.
During its weekly meeting today, the Qatari Cabinet decided that the official start of work for all employees of the government and private sectors will be from seven in the morning to eleven, with the exception of the military, security, health and educational sectors.
“ Reducing the number of employees present in the workplaces of government agencies to 20 percent of the total number of employees at the entity, while 80 percent will continue their work remotely,” according to the report.
This decision was announced by the Cabinet in accordance with the country’s preparations to host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The security, military, health, and educational sectors are excluded from these decisions.
The main Corniche highway along Doha’s seafront will be closed to all cars from November 1. A fan zone is being built alongside the route.
