LAHJ, Oct. 05 (YPA) – Director general of Al-Milah district in Lahj province, southern Yemen, survived an assassination attempt was carried out by militants affiliated with UAE-backed militias.
In a letter addressed to Lahj governor in the coalition-backed government, Ali Salem al-Mughrabi confirmed that he had been subjected to an assassination attempt at al-Dabariya checkpoint led by Ali Amer and members of the Fifth Support Brigade.
He indicated in the letter that the UAE-backed militia opened fire at him at the entrance of the district, but he managed to escape.
Al-Mughrabi added in the latter that he had previously been chased and threatened with detention or assassination by members of checkpoints.
