UAE-funded militias kidnap lawyer in Aden

ADEN, Aug. 22 (YPA) – Head of Touq Organization for Rights and Justice, Lawyer Mazen Salam, had been kidnapped in the city of Aden, south of Yemen.

Human rights sources stated that members of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militia came on a car, and kidnapped Salam, while he was leaving Sira court on Sunday, and took him to an unknown destination.

The sources indicated that the militia confiscated the phone of lawyer Salam, the moment he was kidnapped, without giving reasons.

Judges and lawyers in Aden have been threatened and abused by the STC militia, which has controlled the city since August 2019.
