White House calls on Congress to allocate additional aid to Ukraine

WORLD, Jul. 23 (YPA) – White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said Congress would not skimp on providing additional aid to Ukraine when the record $40 billion allocated to it expires.

Speaking at ASPEN security forum,  Jake Sullivan stressed  that the Russian authorities “must realize the futility of hopes that the United States and major European countries will lose interest in the conflict in Ukraine and limit their support.”

“Congress has earlier approved a $40 billion package for Ukraine, much of which has not yet been spent,” he said.

“We work monthly to ship weapons at a pace that allows Ukrainians to master their use and deployment on the battlefield with trained personnel … And then, I’m sure there will be bipartisan support in Congress to release these (additional) resources, if necessary,” he added.
