Woman injured due to clashes between pro-coalition factions in Shabwa
SHABWA, Jul. 15 (YPA) – A woman was injured on Friday in the city of Ataq, the center of Shabwa province, eastern Yemen, as a result of the armed clashes that took place in the city between the armed factions loyal to Saudi-led coalition.
Local sources in Shabwa told the “Yemen Press Agency” that gunmen from the so-called “Special Forces” launched an armed attack targeting a military point belonging to the so-called “Shabwa Defense” militia of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) near Ataq.
According to the sources, the woman was shot by gunmen while she was near the scene of the clashes.
The sources added that the clashes resulted in deaths and injuries on both sides, without mentioning numbers.
The city of Ataq witnessed a large deployment of tanks and armored vehicles in the streets, amid great tension that heralds the development of clashes between the two parties.
