BEIRUT, Jul. 03 (YPA) – Lebanese President Michel Aoun has stressed the importance of Arab cooperation, especially in light of the current circumstances.
This came during a meeting he held with the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, on Saturday, on the sidelines of a consultative meeting of Arab foreign ministers to be held in Beirut, according to a statement by the Lebanese presidency.
The statement quoted Aoun as stressing “the importance of Arab-Arab relations, especially in this delicate circumstance that the Arab world is going through, and the challenges it faces that require the utmost levels of consultation and joint cooperation.”
He considered that “cooperation and solidarity between brotherly Arab countries is important in light of the crises, pressures and transformations our countries are witnessing.”
The Lebanese president expressed his hope that the Arab foreign ministers would “help face these challenges.”
