LONDON, July 27 (YPA) – British Foreign Secretary David Lammy asserted that Israel’s announcement of a humanitarian truce in the Gaza Strip was an overdue step, emphasizing the need to expedite aid delivery.
Lammy considered this step alone insufficient, calling for a comprehensive ceasefire that would guarantee an end to the war, the release of prisoners, and the unrestricted entry of aid. He warned of a worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza.
For his part, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz expressed his deep concern over the humanitarian situation in the Strip during a call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, calling for immediate action toward a ceasefire and the urgent delivery of aid to the people of Gaza.
