13 killed, 10 injured in truck crash in central Mexico

WORLD, Jun. 19 (YPA) – At least 13 people were killed and 10 injured in a truck crash in central Mexico’s Guanajuato State.

According to the Civil Protection Service, on Saturday, a public transport truck overturned on on the Highway of Querétaro, in which 13 people died on the spot and 10 others were injured.

The service explained, via Twitter, that preliminary data from the scene indicates that the truck driver lost control to hit large trees in the rough area, causing passengers to roll across the slope.

It noted that civil protection personnel had arrived at the scene to provide medical assistance to the wounded, and at least eight others had been taken to a hospital in San Juan del Rio.
