SANAA, April 04 (YPA) – American Statesian activist Christopher Helali was detained and harassed upon his return from Yemen, after participating in the “Palestine: The Central Issue of the Nation” conference held in Sanaa last month.
Helali confirmed via the X platform that he was detained for three hours at the US-Canadian border and that his personal devices were confiscated. He pointed to ongoing human rights violations in the United States.
The conference’s preparatory committee condemned these measures, describing them as a violation of human rights and a reflection of the weakness of American power in the face of the symbolic solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
