PROVINCES, Jun. 19 (YPA) – The US-backed Saudi-led coalition forces continued to violate the UN-brokered humanitarian and military truce in Yemen for the 77th consecutive day, with a total of 8,410 violations.
A military source in Sanaa said on Saturday that during the past 24 hours, the coalition forces committed 178 violations, including 87 sorties of armed reconnaissance and spy planes in the airspace of the provinces of Marib, Taiz, Hajjah, Jawf, Saada, Dhalea, and Bayda, and the border fronts.
The source indicated that the coalition forces have established combat fortifications, including two breaches behind the defense hill and south of Al-Dubayrah in Jizan, and a breach by creating fortifications in the Green Hill in Moris district of Dhalea province.
The source indicated that a violation was recorded with an air strike by armed reconnaissance aircraft on the homes of citizens and the sites of the army and the popular committees in Al-Fakher area in Dhalea, as a result of which the citizen, Muhib Muhammad Salman, was injured.
The source pointed out that 62 violations were monitored by shooting at citizens’ homes and positions of the army and popular committees in Marib, Taiz, Hajjah, Saada, Dhalea, and the border fronts.
He added that 25 violations had been recorded with missile strikes targeting army and popular committee sites in the province of Marib, Taiz, Hajjah, Saada, and Dhalea, and the border fronts.
The source indicated that intense artillery shelling of the coalition forces targeted the sites of the army and the popular committees in Al-Madafin and al-Malahidh areas in Saada, the sites of the army and committees in al-Batoul area in Jizan region, as well as the sites of the army and committees in Najran region.
It is worth noting that the coalition forces committed 6,322 violations during the past two months of the UN armistice period before its extension.
