SANAA, Jun.04 (YPA) – CNN published a report stating that most African countries stand by Russia and make no statements about its military operation in Ukraine.
Many countries on the African continent are “distancing themselves” from any statements about the war in Ukraine, network reporter David McKenzie said in a live broadcast from Johannesburg.
During a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Senegalese President Macky Sall on Friday in Sochi, Sall said most African countries are opposed to taking any position against Russia.
“President of Senegal has made it clear to Putin about the different views of Africa, he said, noting that a large number of African countries have refused to blame Russia.
Putin had expressed his willingness to support the export of Ukrainian grain and ensure Russian supplies of food and fertilizers to Africa, and called for the lifting of sanctions that hinder exports from Russia.
