DAMASCUS, May 23 (YPA) – Syria’s ambassador to Moscow, Riad Haddad, said Russian supplies to basic needs in Syria are continuing and stable, and a new batch will arrive in Syria next month.
Haddad said in a statement to al-Watan newspaper that Russia has excluded Syria from all recent measures regarding the export of products, like wheat, following sanctions imposed by Western countries.
Haddad stressed that the supply of Russian products to Syria, whether wheat or other products related to manufacturing, continued as it is and has not changed, and is continuing in all respects and was not covered by any of those measures imposed by Russia on all countries of the world wishing to import their products.
He considered that these exceptions confirm that Russia stands with Syria in the face of the economic war being waged against it, and that there is determination on the Syrian and Russian sides to face the economic blockade and unjust Western sanctions imposed on both sides.
Haddad revealed a new batch of Russian aid to arrive in Syria next month weighing about 160 tons, noting that the arrival of this aid will coincide with the arrival of a large Russian delegation in Damascus to hold the work of the Joint Syrian-Russian Government Committee.
