Iranian President begins his official visit to Oman

TEHRAN, May 23 (YPA) – Iranian President Ibrahim Al-Raisi left Tehran on Monday morning for Muscat at the official invitation of The Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tariq al-Saeed.

Speaking to reporters at Mehrabad International Airport ahead of leaving Tehran for Muscat, President Raisi said the visit to Oman is to develop good relations with neighboring countries and we hope that these visits will continue.

He stressed that trade relations between Iran and Oman will certainly improve in various fields, including transport, energy and tourism, especially health tourism.

“On this visit, memorandums of understanding will be signed between the two countries and will be followed up for implementation.

“This visit is part of the government’s policy of strengthening relations with neighboring countries,” he said, adding that the visit was of great importance to us.

“Regional cooperation and dialogue will ensure security for our region,” he said, adding that the foreign presence does not bring security to the region but threatens it.

The president is scheduled to meet with the Sultan of Oman to sign several documents for joint cooperation.
