TEHRAN, Feb. 25 (YPA) – Spokesman for the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, Mahmoud Abbaszadeh Meshkini, confirmed on Friday that the Sultanate of Oman is the gateway to strengthening relations between Iran and Arab countries, especially the Gulf states.
On the recent visit of the Omani Foreign Minister to Tehran, Meshkini said that Iran’s strategy is based on strengthening ties with neighboring countries.
He noted the countries of Iran’s northern neighborhood have been given priority in recent months, and attention is currently focused on the Gulf states.
The Iranian spokesman pointed out that Tehran is motivated by the desire to consolidate relations with all Gulf countries, including Oman, and that “this country takes precedence over others given the strong ties and relations that exist between the two sides.”
Meshkini described the foreign policy of the Sultanate of Oman as being more rational compared to some Arab countries.
